The Happy Sasquatch Carnival

The Joyeux Carnaval du Sasquatch in Sainte-Rose-du-Nord is a winter program built around sharing the spark of imagination. Unique cultural exchanges and dazzling entertainment for the whole family take place in the heart of one of Quebec's most beautiful villages, surrounded by the majestic mountains on the shores of the Saguenay Fjord.
On an open-air site adorned with monumental works sculpted in the snow and set with ice and lights, a multitude of activities take place.
A snow, ice and light sculpture symposium unique in Canada welcomes teams of sculptors from the region and beyond. They create majestic and beautiful works live before the public, creating a phantasmagorical winter backdrop for festival-goers.
The program will also include musical, circus, storytelling and theatrical performances to keep audiences dancing and singing along.
All the fabulous shows are created by local artists who are encouraged by the Carnival emblem; Kapapakat, the Sasquatch, great guardian of the spark of imagination!
