On vacation in the Saguenay for a short time? Here are our suggested activities for an unforgettable three-day stay! Each day, discover a multitude of places of interest that will allow you to eat well, observe the region's most beautiful landscapes and visit a variety of attractions.

First day in Saguenay

Departure :

La Baie Borough Tourist Information Office

To get your day off to a good start, we invite you to the La Baie Tourist Information Office. On site, our experienced consultants will carefully answer your questions, then suggest a ton of ideas for outings during your three-day stay in the Saguenay.

Just before you start your adventure, don't forget to take a few minutes to admire the undeniable beauty of the Saguenay Fjord from Parc Mars, which is located right next to our information office.

If you're visiting during the fall season, you might be lucky enough to see one of the huge international ships that dock at the La Baie wharf. Don't forget to keep an eye out cruise schedule! Did you know that Saguenay is a four-time winner of the World's Best Port Reception Award? It's a must-see in autumn!

Stop #1:

The Fjord Museum

The Fjord Museum is perfect for a family activity. When you visit, you'll discover all the secrets of the fjord's formation and mysterious history, as well as the fascinating marine life that inhabits it.

Stop #2:

L'Anse-Saint-Jean wharf

During the day, a quick stop at the anse-Saint-Jean wharf is a must. With its many docked boats and friendly waterside boutiques, this quay is truly postcard-perfect! Take advantage of this stopover to walk on the beach, admire the view or even take a refreshing dip in the cool waters of the Saguenay Fjord!

Stop #3:

Dinner at La Chasse-Pinte

Open from June to October, this former fishing camp has been transformed into a microbrewery/bistro. With its intimate, friendly atmosphere, the Chasse-Pinte seduces you with its tasty local food, which includes a variety of local products. If you're visiting on a Saturday, you'll even be treated to live music!

Stop #4:

L'Anse-de-Tabatière lookout

As part of the parc national du Fjord-du-Saguenaythis is the only place accessible by car where you can admire a panoramic view of the fjord. On-site facilities allow you to enjoy a comfortable picnic or simply observe the beauty of nature from this breathtaking vantage point.

Stop #5:

The Port Village of La Baie and O'Gelato & Cocoa

What better way to end this first day of Saguenay flavors than with an iced delight, while admiring the end-of-day hues of the Saguenay Fjord? It's literally the cherry on top of the sundae!

By visiting O'Gelato and Cacaoat the ice cream counter, you'll be able to choose from a variety of products (chocolate, pastries, tea, etc.) and/or gelato flavors. Before you leave, don't forget to take a photo with the SAGUENAY sign, located nearby in the agora of the port village. A great souvenir of your trip to Saguenay!

Second day at Saguenay Fjord

Departure :

Chicoutimi tourist information office

For this second day, we invite you to visit the Chicoutimi district! First, visit our information desk. Located in the heart of downtown, on Rue Racine, it's also very close to the port area. Once you've gathered all the information you need from our advisors, we'll take you for a walk along the Saguenay River.

Stop #1 :

La Pulperie de Chicoutimi / Regional Museum

Chicoutimi Pulp Mill Museum is much more than a museum! A true vestige of the past, this historic site was home to a successful pulp company in the early 1900s. Today, the former machine shop and the various buildings that make up this heritage site are still in place, and house a variety of exhibitions.

Stop #2:

Les 3G snack bar at the Sainte-Rose-du-Nord wharf

How about some delicious home fries or an exquisite maple syrup soft serve? Sounds good, doesn't it? That's what this restaurantlocated directly opposite the Saguenay Fjord and just a few steps from the Sainte-Rose-du-Nord wharf.

Stop #3:

Les Navettes maritimes du Fjord

Speaking of that dock, it's right here that you'll find your next activity: a three-hour non-stop cruise in the heart of the fabulous Fjord-du-Saguenay. Led by experienced guides, this activity will allow you to sail through the vertiginous headlands of the fjord and admire the statue of Notre-Dame-du-Saguenay, perched atop the impressive Cap Éternité.

Stop #4:

Return to Chicoutimi and discover its many restaurants

After a great day exploring Chicoutimi and the surrounding area, what could be better than a nice meal? Rue Racine, a veritable gourmet hub, offers numerous restaurants with international flavors. All downtown restaurants are close to the port area, where many festivals take place during the summer. We invite you to take advantage of these festivities during your trip to Saguenay!

Third day at Saguenay Fjord

Stop #1 :

L'Érudit Café

Looking for a good morning coffee? In Saguenay, the reputation of L'Érudit Café is a must! Located in the heart of downtown Jonquière, this charming place offers you the chance to enjoy a real barista's coffee. Whether on the terrace (in summer) or inside, you'll be charmed by the friendly staff and lively atmosphere.

Rivière-aux-Sables Park

Just minutes from L'Érudit Café, this park is perfect for families and water lovers. The children's play modules (water games in summer) are modern and will undoubtedly keep them entertained for many minutes. For paddleboarders, there's plenty to do all along the river. Rentals are also available. There are cycle paths on both sides of the park. A great way to cycle around Jonquière!

Stop #3:

Visit the Arvida heritage district and the Arvida History Centre

If this is your first trip to Saguenay, you should know that the Arvida area is renowned for its old-world charm, which has been brilliantly preserved. With its century-old houses and mature trees, Arvida stands out. Discover its history by visiting Center d'histoire Arvida (CHA). The center also offers walking tours of the area's many attractions!

Dinner at La Voie Maltée microbrewery

I promise, you won't be disappointed if you end your day with a good meal at La Voie Maltée. Another gourmet discovery not to be missed in the Saguenay! This microbrewery is one of the pioneers in its field. Since 2002, it has distinguished itself by its warm ambience, its wide variety of tasty beers and its comforting dishes inspired by the aromas of beer. For a festive evening, the "VM" is the destination of choice!
